Applications are invited for the following faculty positions at the University of Houston in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering:

Assistant Professor (tenure-track, 2 positions): We are seeking exceptional candidates in the following energy related areas:

  • Power electronics, electric machines, and drive systems
  • High-frequency power conversion systems
  • Modeling of power system dynamics
  • Power systems, renewables integration, and microgrid management
  • Prognostics and health management of power converters and electric machines
  • Next-generation wireless power transfer
  • Power conversion systems for extreme environments (e.g., subsea, down-hole, space, nuclear, etc.)

The department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate, and undergraduate student population. The start date for these positions is Sept. 1, 2017. Applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled. Applicants must already possess an earned doctorate in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field at the time of application. For a position at the Assistant professor level, post-doctoral experience is not required, but preferred. For a position at the Associate/Full professor level, applicants must have a record of scholarship, teaching, and externally funded research commensurate with the rank.
